We're hyped, we know you are too! Here's a few things to remember about how to not be a jerk tonight. DC Bike Party is a LEAVE NO TRACE EVENT. We do not litter, we respect this place we all call home. We do not trample flower beds or tear apart trees when we park our bikes. We do not leave empty containers, discarded wrappers, cigarette butts, or any other “Matter Out of Place” anywhere accept appropriate recycling, composting, or garbage container. We ride on the right lane, closest to the right, avoiding debris of all sorts. Never ride on the sidewalk and obey traffic signals, stop at lights/ signs. LIGHTS LIGHTS LIGHTS AND LIGHTS Be Kind To Each Other and be kind to cars and pedestrians. Ride straight, be predictable when making ride changes. Roll away from conflict. We want to be remembered for the joy we bring to this city, not for being aggressive jerks. Ask yourself if engaging in conflict is worth it. And finally, please help this be a community building event. Meet new people, ride with a different crowd, get to know your fellow DMVers. BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENERGY YOU BRING: No negativity, just fun, laughs and good times. ... See more
Oh hey *test ride* tonight, leaving Dupont @ 8pm. ...Testing for sufficient groovosity, funkitude, and bootyliciousness. And potholes.
Hey everyone! We are keeping an eye on the forecast for this evening. We are still planning on meeting in Dupont Circle at 6:30pm and rolling out at 7. However, if the skies are about to open up at 7pm, we will retreat temporarily to The Big Hunt and then leave at 8pm on our ride instead. Stay tuned to our event page - DCBP Presents A Ride to Catharsis on the Mall - for further updates and we're looking forward to seeing you tonight! Love, DC Bike Party
We're trying to say YES more this season! So, we've launched a new "DCBP Presents" series to distinguish our more official "DC Bike Party" rides from the special ones we want to say "yes" to making happen. This weekend, we'll have TWO "DCBP Presents" rides to Catharsis on the Mall on Friday and Saturday nights. Then, next Wednesday 5/8, we'll have our annual DC Bike Party Funk Parade ride! Stay tuned for the event postings.
We are so excited to announce that tonight, at the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) 2019 Bicyclist's Choice Awards, we won the BEST SOCIAL RIDE OF 2018! Major thanks to all of our amazing volunteers, everyone who has come out to any of our rides, and the broader cycling community for all there support. Here's to another amazing year of #DCBIKEPARTY!
