PDF Version Available Here
WASHINGTON, DC – Following a record-setting turnout in April, DC Bike Party is excited to announce its May theme as the “Robot Ride”, celebrating the highly-anticipated release of Daft Punk’s new album, “Random Access Memories”. The ride will feature a mobile DJ, toted by National Pedicabs, who will be spinning his own Daft Punk mix along the entire route. Participants are encouraged to channel the movie “Tron” and all things “robot” when dressing for the event.
DC Bike Party held its first ride in July 2012, and has since grown to over 450 riders. The event capitalizes on Washington, DC’s large community of cycling enthusiasts to build friendships with like-minded individuals and explore our nation’s capital.
The group will depart from DuPont Circle and complete an approximately 8-mile ride, including a mid-way pit stop. The ride will pass through many of the city’s major landmarks and attractions before ending with a celebration at Brixton on U Street. The DJ will continue his set and the bar will offer happy hour specials all night for DC Bike Party participants
A map of the complete route and disclaimer will be available at DCBikeParty.com 24 hours before the ride. Riders are welcome to join or depart the group at any point—many riders use Capital Bikeshare.

About DC Bike Party:
The DC Bike Party is a monthly party ride around our Nation’s Capitol, with the route’s starting in DuPont Circle on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. The District’s biking community, much like the city itself, is growing rapidly, and DC Bike Party’s goal is to be a positive part of this growth. Each month, the event sets out to explore the city via bicycle, featuring an ever-changing route, new playlist for the ride, and a new post-ride bar. All post-ride outings are 21 and older. The DC Bike Party is a place to ride bikes, make friends, and have a real cool time.
