MONTHLY DC BIKE PARTY TO HOLD TOGA PARTY RIDE
WEDNESDAY, August 14

WASHINGTON, DC – Continuing efforts to capitalize on Washington, DC’s large community of cycling enthusiasts, build friendships with like-minded individuals, and explore our nation’s capital, DC Bike Party will hold “D.C. Bike Party: TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!”, a big fat Greek bike party. The playlist, which will be blasted through the massive SoundBike DC, includes tunes chosen by D.C. Bike Party participants via a collaborative playlist and includes the Animal House favorite “Shout!” among many others. Participants are encouraged to wrap themselves up in a toga and sport gold leafed growns when dressing for the event—think “THIS IS SPARTA” mixed with John Belushi’s infamous toga party. DC Bike Party, which held its first ride in July 2012, grew to over 650 riders in July for its one-year anniversary birthday party ride.
The group, departing from DuPont Circle, will set out to complete an approximately 8-mile ride, visiting some of the city’s major landmarks and attractions with a pit stop on Capitol Hill before ending with a celebration at Bardo Brewpub on Baldensburg Road. The bar will offer beer specials all night for DC Bike Party participants who rock a helmet the entire after party.
A map of the complete route will be available at DCBikeParty.com 24 hours before the ride. Riders are welcome to join or depart the group at any point—many riders use Capital Bikeshare.
Everyone is welcome to attend or participate. Full details on the event are below:

About DC Bike Party:
The DC Bike Party is a monthly party ride around our Nation’s Capitol, with the route’s starting in DuPont Circle on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. The District’s biking community, much like the city itself, is growing rapidly, and DC Bike Party’s goal is to be a positive part of this growth. Each month, the event sets out to explore the city via bicycle, featuring an ever-changing route, new playlist for the ride, and a new post-ride bar. All post-ride outings are 21 and older. The DC Bike Party is a place to ride bikes, make friends, and have a real cool time.
