Thank you to everyone who came out for the 2nd DCBP. Thanks to 51st State and Wonderland Ballroom for welcoming us with open arms, Danny for the RIDICULOUS speakers, and Ryan for a beautiful route.

The DC Bike Party RIDES TONIGHT (Aug 8th). We’re meeting at 7:30pm at the Jefferson Dr side of the Smithsonian Metro. We will make a pitstop at 51st State, and end our ride at Wonderland Ballroom. DC Bike Party wants to encourage riders to be safe and smart while riding.
If you follow these rules, Bike Party will be safe and a positive place for riders, drivers, pedestrians, and the community
1. Stay in the right lane NEVER ride the sidewalk. NEVER ride against oncoming traffic.
2. Stop at Red Lights
3. Ride Straight, Ride Predictably
4. Leave no rider behind.
5. Ride SMART! It’s illegal and dangerous to ride a bicycle inebriated. Be smart, riders.
6. Communicate with your fellow riders! (We need your help to remind those who aren’t following the rules!)
Remember, you are responsible for your own behavior. All participants ride at their own risk.

Here is the route for DC Bike Party, Vol. 2. Props to Ryan for the route and bar choices.
We will be meeting at the Jefferson Dr. SW Exit of the Smithsonian Metro Station at 7:30, rolling out at 8pm.
We’ll be taking a 30 minute pitstop at 51st State (2512 L St NW) around 8:30, and finishing up at Wonderland Ballroom (11th & Kenyon NW) around 9:45. We hope to see you there for the ride, but if you can’t make it, meet up with us at any one of these stops.

Hey Bike Party People– let us know what you think of the test logo in the previous post. Still working out some kinks, but how do you like it so far?
Well, the Inaugural Ride was a huge success. After a little buzz from The Huffington Post and Social in DC the OG crew of the DCBP gathered at 7:30 on Wednesday 7/11 and rolled out around 8. The weather was perfect as about 25 of us rolled up to H St. NE for some refreshments at Rock n’ Roll Hotel. It got dark, we un-locked and re-rocked and put our lights and helmets back on as we headed towards 9th and U St. NW. There was a harrowing moment or two– including a flat tire that resulted in one rider perching up with another, while a solid one-handed rider carted the fallen bike all the way to DC9.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the first DC Bike Party. Looking forward to seeing you at the next one on August 8th.
